Permanent Premises

Further to the recent Parents' Forum, we are delighted to inform you that we have exchanged contracts to purchase the former Barnet College site in Stanhope Road, near to Tally Ho Corner.

Stanhope Road site

As explained at the Parents' Forum, there is much work to be done on the property but we are confident we will be able to create a school that both matches the excellence of our educational standards in the facilities it offers and that will also meet the criteria for State Aid.

The refurbishment and building project is likely to be carried out in two phases, which should assist with logistics as well as hopefully with fundraising.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has given us support to enable us to finance the purchase of the property.  Particular thanks are due to the Trustees of the Charles Wolfson Charitable Trust for their pivotal support and to Benjamin Perl, our Hon President, without whom we would not have been able to buy this property.  Our thanks also go to those who have provided support for this project but wish to remain anonymous.

We are working on detailed plans for the building and a timetable for the necessary works; both of these will be shared with you as soon as possible.

We now need to raise funds to repay a long-term loan we have taken to part finance the purchase of the property and also to fund the refurbishment and building works.  We have spoken to a number of potential donors who have indicated they will support us but have said that their support is conditional on us raising money from parents and families of pupils and others in the Finchley community - so we need every parent to play their part.  In order to ensure we can do this, we are setting up a parents' fundraising committee.  If anyone would like to volunteer to join this would you please contact us as soon as possible.  In addition, if you know of any potential donors we could approach please contact either us at governors@morashajps.org.uk or via the school office.

Fundraising for the refurbishment and building project of our new school will be the focus for our forthcoming annual dinner and I hope we can rely on every parent and potential parent, together with your family and friends, to support us. This project is a major step forward in the development of Morasha and I am sure you will share our delight that we have this wonderful opportunity to build a school of which we can all be justifiably proud.

Further information about the site and our fundraising efforts can be found in this brochure.
