Our Head of LK is Mrs Chana Kanzen. Chana is a fully-qualified and highly versatile teacher with broad teaching experience, including:
- experience of teaching the National Curriculum and Jewish studies
- experience of teaching all levels from Nursery through to Year 6
- experience at several different schools, including most recently at Wolfson Hillel Primary School.
Critically for Morasha, Chana also has specific expertise of integrating religious and secular subjects - a key aspect to our educational ethos.
Chana was initially recruited as a part-time LK teacher, but has been increasing her time commitment and strategic input as the school has grown. Recognising her wider contribution, the governors were delighted to appoint Chana as our Head of LK in April 2009. In this role, Chana will be responsible not just for direct teaching, but also for curriculum development, co-ordination of LK provision within the school and its integration with the National Curriculum. With the support of Rabbi Mirvis and the governors behind her, we are confident that Chana will ensure a first-rate LK offering from Reception through to Year 6.
