Hayley Gross appointed as first Head Teacher of Morasha

15 April 2011

After a long and rigorous selection process the Governors and Trustees are delighted to announce that Hayley Gross has been appointed as Morasha's first Head Teacher. This is one more step along the exciting path that the school has taken since we opened in 2008. Following our recent successful application for planning permission at a new site near Kinloss Synagogue, and a record-breaking annual fund-raising dinner, Mrs Gross' appointment puts the school on a firm footing to meet our potential as we grow to our full size.

Having previously worked as a solicitor in the City, Hayley changed profession and became a teacher in 1999, and then taught in Hong Kong and then at Rosh Pinah Primary School. Hayley Gross was appointed as Morasha's first ever class teacher in 2008 and also managed the day-to-day running of the school from the outset.

Hayley performed this leadership role with such distinction and skill that in April 2009 we were delighted to recognise her contribution by appointing her Acting Head.

As Acting Head Teacher, Hayley Gross has successfully lead Morasha from its initial seven pupils to the 56 we have today. She has shown herself throughout to be a very skilled leader, manager and a brilliant teacher, all proven by the 'Outstanding' report received from Ofsted last year. Hayley has demonstrated a unique ability to realise the school's ethos of a modern orthodox Jewish environment for our children that demonstrates a commitment to Torah values with a strong positive attitude towards Israel. Her commitment to a broad and balanced secular curriculum and dedication to achieve the highest possible academic standards has impressed everyone who has come into contact with the school and Hayley.

We hope you will join us in congratulating Hayley on her appointment. We will be arranging another Parents Forum after Pesach, where you will be able to come and hear her plans for the future, as well as get updates on other issues.

Wishing you and your family a Chag Kasher V'sameach.
