MORASHA - JEWISH PRIMARY SCHOOL

GOVERNORS & TRUSTEES

Many people work tirelessly behind the scenes in support of the teachers to ensure that Morasha is run as smoothly as possible.

The Honorary Principal of the school, Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, helps to set the religious direction of the school and provides guidance in the event of any halakhic questions arising.

The Honorary President of the school, Benjamin Perl MBE, is the Chair of the Huntingdon Foundation which purchased the school's current premises in February 2008. His continuing support and advice remains invaluable.

The charity that underpins the school, the Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust, is served by six trustees who ensure that the charitable trust is run properly. The chairman of the trustees is Jeremy Newman, and he is supported by Peter Sheldon OBE and four individuals who are also on the governing body (Chavi Abeles, Robert Gershon, Ian Kamiel and Adam Phillips).

The school is governed by 13 governors from a variety of backgrounds. The governing body is chaired by Ian Kamiel, with Simone Gershon as vice-chair, and is responsible for setting the direction of the school, including through the approval of policies and appointment of staff. The governing body is split into a number of sub-committees as follows:

  • Education and Care,
  • Premises,
  • Finance
  • Marketing and Recruitment.
